The Poles moved in a row, one by one. Stoch was the first to start the competition . He was 14th in qualifying, but did not repeat such a good attempt. The three-time Olympic champion jumped in poor conditions, for which he received 16.8 points in compensation for the wind. He landed on the 204th meter and received a score of 187.6 points. He had no problem advancing, and before the final he was 21st.
Żyła, who performed very well in Friday’s duet competition, raised great hopes among the fans. The day after, he certainly could have done better. The Wiślanski achieved 203.5 meters, but he did not receive high marks or significant compensation. The total score of 179.2 points allowed him to take 26th place.
Unfortunately, Kubacki completely failed . The experienced player was definitely late in taking off, he tried to save himself, but he was immediately pulled down. A distance of 177 meters and terrible results pushed him to the very end of the pack. Score 143.8 points – it was a real nightmare.
HE DESTROYED THE BEST OF ALL POLES
Zniszczoł was the last Pole to appear in the first series . The White and Reds, who has recently been in the most consistent form, jumped 210 meters and had 18 points. He also received a lot of compensation for the wind. A total score of 192.6 points placed him in 12th place before the final.
The Slovenians impressed in the first series. It was won by Peter Prevc (230 meters and 214.6 points), ahead of his compatriot Timi Zajc (230 m and 214.5 m) and Austrian Stefan Kraft (222 m and 210.5 m). Domen Prevc was fourth (227.5 m and 210.1 points).
STOCH IMPRESSED IN OBERSTDORF
In the final series, Żyła failed to improve. 198 meters, low scores (total 367 points), sour face and 26th place – this was the result of his jump.
Fortunately, Stoch did not stare at his teammate. The jumper from Ząb reached 221 meters and after his beautiful flight he had every reason to be satisfied. He took the lead with a score of 405.6 points. He could finally be happy. On Saturday, our champion finally showed really good jumps that satisfied him. Ultimately, he took a high 12th place, equaling his best result of the season. Way to go!
Zniszczoł was also counting on a good try. He had a good performance, but did not retain his place in the first series. He jumped 219.5 meters and scored 400.1 points. This was enough to take 19th place.
After a beautiful fight, Zajc won the competition, ahead of Peter Prevc and Kraft. The winner took a risk and jumped from the lowered 21st beam, which turned out to be a bull’s-eye. He achieved a distance of 230 meters and a total score of 449.3 points. Second place Prevc lost to him by 4.2 points, and third place Krafkt lost by 9 points.
