KAREN CHACZANOW – JAKUB MENSIK: RESULT AND REPORT. ATP FINAL IN DOHA

Karen Khachanov (seeded number 2) defeated Czech Jakub Mensik, who was making his debut in the final of the ATP event, 7-6 (14-12), 6-4 and won the tennis tournament in Doha. This is the Russian’s sixth title in his career.

The final match was very even. In the first set, the serve dominated the game, and the players won games quite quickly on their serve. There was only one unused break point by Khachanov in the entire game.

A FEW WEAKER MINUTES FOR MENSIK

In the tie-break, the fight was still extremely fierce, and the Russian’s victory was ultimately decided by a mini break.

BIG DAY FOR THE 18-YEAR-OLD TENNIS PLAYER. IT CAUSED A SENSATION AND AMUSED THE AUDIENCE

Mensik probably hasn’t recovered from this painful decision yet, and he has already received another blow. He lost his first service game, Khachanov did not allow his opponent to break until the end and won 6:4.
The 27-year-old Russian previously won in Chengdu (2016), Paris, Moscow and Marseille (2018) and Zhuhai (2023).
Mensik, ranked 116th in the world ranking, lost after a tough fight, but he can also have reasons to be satisfied. On Monday’s ranking, he will be in the top hundred for the first time in his career.
