OMLOOP HET NIEUWSBLAD 2024 FOR JAN TRATNIK. REMOTE PLACES OF POLES

Slovenian Jan Tratnik from the Visma group triumphed in the 79th edition of the one-day cycling race Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. The route was 202 kilometers long and led around Ghent.

Omloop Het Nieuwsblad is the opening race of the cycling season in Belgium, and at the same time the first race in Europe this year included in the prestigious World Tour series.

Tratnik was three seconds ahead of German Nils Politt (UAE Team Emirates) and eight seconds ahead of his group partner, Belgian Wout van Aert.

POLES AT THE END OF THEIR HUNDRED

Among the 131 cyclists who reached the finish line, there were two Poles – Łukasz Owsian (Arkea-B&B Hotels) took 93rd place, 11 minutes and 29 seconds behind, and Kamil Małecki (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team) took 99th place – a loss of 13.07.

Kamil Gradek (Bahrain-Victorious) and Cesare Benedetti (Bora-hansgrohe) did not finish the competition.
